Lindisfarne Island

This oil on canvas measuring 290mm x 235mm, including the frame, is a view of Lindisfarne. The low sun is giving everything an orange tint and casting long shadows across the grass. You imagine it's the year 793, June the 8th to be exact, and there's several viking ships arriving on the beach. It's not going to end well for those in the monastery. The fresh breeze reminds you that you need to get yourself moving, off the island, before the tide returns, and the sea covered road blocks your escape.  At least it's just the tide to consider today and not axe wielding marauders looking for silver. Shipped in a matt black frame, ready to hang.
