After a long hot afternoon in at Piazza San Marco, you make your way back towards Fondamente Nove, stopping off at the Palazzo Grimani and Hotel Tintoretto on the way. The warmth lingers long into the night, and you make your way slowly across the city, stopping on the bridges to observe the comings and goings of the locals through the lagoon.
